So, I got another job.
Between the rise in fuel oil prices, the rise in grocery prices, the lowering of the temps here in the south and the fact we have a car on its last legs, not to mention a son getting ready to head off to college in January, it was inevitable.
It is a second work from home job, so I won’t have to leave or try to rush between job A and job B, but pretty much from 9am-11pm 4 days a week I will be sitting in my chair tethered to a computer. not to mention half a day on a 5th day of the week.
My rear is gonna spread so far…..
So to all of you out there that DO NOT think we are in recession/depression….. HA. Try feeding my crew on our salary. Try affording medical care on our income. Try replacing cars/appliances/clothes or anything else that breaks on our income.
For 18 years I did not work, and we made it just fine, until prices started skyrocketing, and jobs started dropping. Now, I have to work, no choice in the matter. I HAVE TO WORK. 5 years ago, my kids played sports, they had fun, I went to every single game. Now, we can’t afford sports, and even if we could there is no one to take them because Stud and I are both at work. Son2 plays only because he works and pays his own fees. He had to wait on going to college until he could get a scholarship to pick up part of the bill. He still doesn’t have a car, so we have no idea how he is going to get back and forth from Atlanta to home when he wants to come home on weekends. We also have no idea, other than this 2nd job of mine how he will live day to day in ATL. He will have room and board, but what about everything else?
I’m stressed, I’m pushed to the limit. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Don’t worry about Son2. I worked while I was in college and made enough money to live. Your kids are resourceful. They’ll find a way.
He’s keeping himself up right now by donating plasma…. sheesh. At least its for a good cause… lol
