Son4 is having a bad day, a bad weekend actually.
Friday, he got spider bit. Brown recluse spider. Its quite ugly. On his lower left leg.
Then Saturday, he got bee stung on the eye lid. The left eye lid.
As a result of his weekend, we went to the doctor today to have things checked. Especially since the spider bite is spreading a touch, and the eye is still humongously is swollen, and only getting worse. But still, Stud and I were concerned with the spider bite. Not really about the eye. Boy were we wrong.
Yes we have to keep an eye on the spider bite, but the real thing is the eye. The eye has a clinical diagnosis of Periorbital Cellulitis. They dosed him up with a double shot of Rocephin. If he isn’t better within 36-48 hours then he has to go back, get two more shots or go in the hospital for IV meds. The potential of what can happen from here is pretty scary. Especially since his eye is so bad now, especially that the doctor is so worried about the eye, they just kind of don’t want to pay attention to the spider bite now. We are waiting to see the outcome of the eye first.
Yeah, its been a bad day.

Praying things will be ok! That is scary for sure. Mike got bit by a brown recluse and ended up with a huge hole in his leg. It took forever to heal. I can’t imagine a bee sting on the eye! I hope he heals completely and with no lasting effects.
I’m so glad you guys took the time to take him to the doctor, regardless of what the concern was to begin with! At least they know, and you now know, what to monitor.
I’m sure he’s in a lot of discomfort, if not outright pain. Please give him my empathy for that.
I know you’re probably worried and with good cause, but just follow the doctor’s orders and your gut instinct and leave the rest to God.
